Virus
and Spyware removal is done to remove Viruses, Spyware,
Malware, Worms, High-Jackers, etc. and to bring the system back to the
basic operating norms within the restrictions of currently running
programs, processor speed, amount of physical memory installed, and
available Hard Drive speed and free space which determines the overall
performance of the system. ( If the system is actually able to 'Boot-up'
or functional at time of Service - see 'reloading' if applicable)
Once the process is completed Fairport Computer Services, Inc. warrants
that the system is 'Virus Free' at time of pick, we then make
recommendations to provide future protection based on experience and not
on preference. Since any running or non functioning antivirus was
removed to do the repairs (system that are infected also will damage
running antivirus, that is why they are infected - it may appear that
your antivirus is working, but the infection/Functionality issues negate
that fact) if the end user does not want to purchase recommended
antivirus program and/or already has their own antivirus program,
subscription, and/or preference - Fairport Computer Services, Inc. will
urge the end user to install the antivirus before going on the internet
to browse, check email, opening files, or download anything in the event
that the system is unprotected and can become infect again by visiting
past sites or viewing emails that caused the infection or functionality
issues in the first place. There is a nominal fee of $35 to install
and/or re-install any software package, in this case antivirus, the
customer also has the option to purchase the software and to install it
them selves, but again are urged to do so before resuming any internet,
email, or browsing activity. Fairport Computer Services, Inc. does not
warranty any software package - we do how ever direct the end user to
the products manufacturer for help, support, and or warranty of any
kind.
** we do not check any programs for functionality during the Spyware and
Virus cleanup, unless stated by the customer at time of repair.
Repairing functionality of individual programs my incur additional fees.
The $49.99 special only covers Virus and Spyware removal, it does not
cover Operating System issues either caused by the infection and/or
existing problems, repairing the operating system will incur additional
fees.
Reloading - if your system needs to
be reloaded because of, but not limited to, in extreme cases
Virus/Spyware infection, Hard Drive Failure, Operating System Corruption
(not booting up or too many functional errors / blues screen and/or self
repair fixes) the basic fee of $85 is charge to reload the system with
just the operating system only (must have valid COA for the OS
being re-installed)- no programs, required hardware drivers (if
available), and operating system updates. We will save 'Data only'
(Documents, picture, videos, email, favorites) at customer's request, if
possible, for a fee based on amount of data and type of repair. (for
Hard Drive Failure it may not be possible to save any or all data from
the failing device) To reload programs there is a charge of $35 per
package, customer must provide the actual disk/CD/DVDs for that
program with a valid COA or serial number to install each package.
Fairport Computer Services, Inc. can and/or will not install software
that is pirated, copied, or cloned from another system.
No warranty implied or
otherwise, provides for on-site service of any kind. If on-site service
is required/needed the current stated rate and rules is applied within
the terms of on-site service (Business customers only, we do not provide
residential on-site service). Repairs are evaluated by Fairport Computer
Services, Inc. and based on that evaluation to see, if any, warranty
applies. Recommendations by end users, other vendors, and/or services
provider does not warrant any type of repair or warranty. If system has
been tampered with in any way by end user, other vendor, and/or service
provider, it can and will void any warranty implied or other wise.
Fairport Computer Services, Inc. reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, the right to reverse, or not honor any customer discounts, reductions, or other forms of reduced fees that have been given on any customer invoice if it is determined that this customer chooses to be rude, spiteful, or in any way berates, or mistreats our staff. In addition to this, a non refundable deposit of $150.00 will be due prior to any work performed
at time of service and/or in the future. If any funds remained unused, they will remain on account for that customer to be used in the future.
Fairport Computer
Services, Inc. will not be responsible for damages, fees incurred, or any other types of refunds, charges or payments for any work not performed by us. Work by the customer, an agent of, or any other technician or facility on an item will void any responsibility or warranty either written or implied. This includes work that is recommended by, but not performed by us.
** Items turned in for service, or for testing / evaluation must be picked up (and paid for; if applicable) within 30 days. A $35.00 monthly storage fee can and will be assessed on any equipment remaining in the possession of Fairport Computer
Services, Inc. after 30day of the date of service. Any
un-claimed products will become property of Fairport Computer
Services, Inc. after 30 days and will be disposed of. As will any product repaired by Fairport Computer
Services, Inc., if contacted by us and not picked up and or paid for will be used for parts and/or disposed as
Fairport Computer Services, Inc. sees fit to do so. Fairport Computer
Services, Inc. will not be held responsible, nor liable for any loss of information/data/personal
property, loss of business, and/or loss of livelihood due to any actions
or services.
